DESPITE missing half its roster, Gilas Pilipinas dismantled Congo in a dominating win, 102-80, in the first day of their tune-up games in Guadalajara.
Andray Blatche led the way as he chipped in 25 points, bullying every Congolese defender that stood in his way.
The locals surged and embarrassed Congo’s defense as they fired at will from the perimeter down to the painted area.
Japeth Aguilar tallied 22 points, and Mark Barroca delivered 16 in the lopsided victory.
June Mar Fajardo, Christian Standhardinger, Marcio Lassiter, Roger Pogoy, and Troy Rosario missed the game as they are still battling each other out in the PBA finals.
Meanwhile, Gabe Norwood, Paul Lee, CJ Perez, Kiefer Ravena, Poy Erram, Beau Belga, Robert Bolick, and Matthew Wright will try to hold the fort down against a tough Ivory Coast team in their next game.
