BACOLOD City – A fetus believed to be six months old was found floating in a river in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police Major Karena Onio, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said a group of minors saw the fetus while they were bathing in the river.
The fetus was retrieved when authorities arrived and was placed inside a plastic container.
Onio said that based on the appearance of the fetus, he/she might be a victim of unwanted pregnancy.
The fetus might have been dumped in the area a few hours before he/she was found based on the bloodstains.
Onio said they don’t have a witness that could identify the person/s who left the fetus there, but they will continue to probe the case to come up with a lead.
