Female rider dies after Roxas City truck crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 24-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon, June 30, after the motorcycle she was driving hit a 12-wheeler dump truck early Monday, June 29, at Highway Crossing Security Bank in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
Alias “Mikay,” of Sitio Bang-ogay in Barangay Natividad, Pilar, Capiz, died in a private hospital here after a day of confinement.
An investigation by the Roxas Component City Police Station showed the victim was traveling from Roxas City proper when her motorcycle hit a HOWO 12-wheeler dump truck driven by alias “Robert,” 57, of Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City.
The victim sustained head and body injuries from the impact and was taken by the Roxas City Emergency Response Team to a private hospital for treatment.
The truck driver was unhurt but was also taken to a hospital after experiencing hypertension.
The motorcycle and dump truck were placed under the custody of the Roxas City police for proper disposition and further investigation.
