FedEx Express partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to host a masterclass for Philippine textile micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), aimed at enhancing their capabilities in international trade.
Held on Dec. 3, 2025, in Taytay, Rizal, the FedEx Masterclass was attended by 33 textile MSMEs seeking to expand their global reach.
The training leveraged FedEx’s international logistics expertise, covering essential topics such as air waybill creation, required documentation, proper textile packaging, and shipment tracking.
In 2024, the Philippines exported USD 892 million in textiles, ranking 13th among the country’s top 22 export categories, with key markets including the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
During the same period, textile imports amounted to USD 2.18 billion, also ranking 13th in overall imports, primarily sourced from China, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
“Our collaboration with DTI amplifies our ability to support Filipino businesses,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director of FedEx Philippines.
“By sharing our logistics expertise and global network, we make international trade simpler and more accessible,” she said.
“This goes beyond delivering shipments; it is about opening avenues, nurturing ambitions, and ensuring that even the smallest businesses have the opportunity to grow beyond borders,” Espinosa added.
“We are committed to turning the promise of global trade into meaningful progress for Filipino MSMEs across the country,” she concluded.
The initiative is part of FedEx’s ongoing mission to support MSMEs and promote inclusive economic development through trade facilitation.
