ROXAS CITY, Capiz – TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE ATTEMPT
A depressed father and his 8-year-old child were saved from committing suicide by jumping into the Panay River Friday here.
Traffic auxiliary Vincent Dela Cruz said some concerned citizens prevented the man and his son from jumping off the Capiz Bridge.
According to the father, who asked not to be named, he was dismayed after the P1,500 financial assistance he asked for from the Capiz provincial capitol for a month now has not been released.
He was so dismayed again after learning that his friend has received his financial assistance from the provincial government after a few days of processing.
The father said that he did not know what to do because of the numerous problems he was facing, particularly with his finances. This prompted him to mull suicide which he later realized was not a solution to his woes.
The father calmed down after some traffic enforcers and police officers came and helped him by giving him advice.
The man promised not to attempt suicide again.
