A father and his teenage son were arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on the evening of Oct. 8 in Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
Alias Boyboy, 44, and his son, alias Tino, both residents of Barangay Consolacion, San Miguel, Iloilo, were arrested during the operation.
The buy-bust was conducted by the Santa Barbara Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU), at Barangay Lanag.
Santa Barbara police chief Capt. Raphy Señeres said the confiscated suspected shabu weighed approximately 50 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 340,000.
Señeres said Tino acted as his father’s motorcycle driver during their alleged drug transactions.
The arrests followed a two-week surveillance operation by law enforcement authorities.
Tino has been turned over to the Santa Barbara Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office for proper handling as a minor.
His father is being held at the Santa Barbara police detention facility.
Both will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
