BACOLOD City – A sugarcane worker was stabbed to death Tuesday night at Sitio Loblob, Barangay Magallon Cadre Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
Killed was Rene Lusaran, 48, of the said village.
Police investigation indicated that Lusaran was reportedly drunk when he went to the house of 49-year-old Marlyn Bargayo.
Lusaran then allegedly shouted “Len palangga ta gid ka” and hugged the suspect, who resisted the victim’s overtures, according to the police.
But Lusaran cornered Bargayo, prompting the latter to get hold of a knife and stab the victim in the abdomen which led to his death.
Bargayo voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
