ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 54-year-old farmer was found dead Saturday morning after visiting the funeral wake of a relative in Mambusao, Capiz.
Jesus Obarra of Brgy. Maninang Sapian, Capiz left their house evening of May 8, 2020 to visit the wake of a relative at Brgy. Bula, Mambusao.
The farmer walked for several hours via Brgy. Najus-an in Mambusao town to evade the checkpoint at the national road.
Police investigation indicated that the victim may have fallen from the mountainous area of the village.
Police Captain Edwin Luces, Mambusao police chief, said a passer-by found the victim Saturday morning.
Luces said they did not find any sign of foul play in Obarra’s death.
Meanwhile, mystery shrouds the death of a 63-year-old laborer.
Anne Francisco told the Roxas City police that she was shocked after learning that her brother Rodulfo Aguilos Jr. of Sitio Pinaypayan Brgy. Lawaan here was found dead in their village.
She said that her brother has no enemies in their place. The family requested an autopsy on the victim’s remains to determine the cause of his death.
The victim was last seen alive Friday evening outside his house.
