Farmer wanted for rape surrenders in Jamindan

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 49-year-old farmer wanted on rape and sexual assault charges surrendered to police Thursday evening, July 9, in Barangay Poblacion, Jamindan, Capiz.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Renato, was listed among the municipality’s most wanted persons.
Police said Renato surrendered at the Jamindan Municipal Police Station after learning that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Judith Orindain-Tonogbanua of Branch 20 in Mambusao, Capiz, issued the warrant dated July 7, 2026.
Police said the court recommended no bail for the rape charge and set bail at PHP 60,000 for the sexual assault charge.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Jamindan Municipal Police Station pending court referral and further legal proceedings.
