Farmer stabbed to death in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A farmer died after being stabbed by a mentally disturbed man on Sunday afternoon, August 4, in Barangay Aglanot, Dumarao, Capiz.
The police identified the victim as alias “Edgar,” who was allegedly stabbed by alias “Randy.” Both are of legal age and residents of the said barangay.
Reports from the Dumarao PNP station indicated that the victim was sitting on a bench after attending a relative’s funeral when the suspect arrived and, without any word, stabbed him in the stomach and right hand.
The victim was brought to Sen. Gerry Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
The suspect was immediately arrested by the police but was released from custody Monday afternoon after the detention period lapsed.
