ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A farmer was hospitalized after he was stabbed by his drinking companion Thursday evening, June 4, in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as alias Toto, 47, while the suspect was identified as alias Nono, 62, both residents of the area.
Police said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. while the victim and the suspect were drinking with friends at a store.
A heated argument ensued between the two, prompting one of their companions to escort the suspect home.
Unknown to the group, the suspect returned to ask forgiveness from the victim.
The victim allegedly punched the suspect, prompting the latter to retaliate by stabbing him in the head.
The victim was immediately brought by his companions to Sen. Gerry Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town for treatment.
The suspect was arrested and is under the custody of the Dumarao police station for proper disposition.
