Farmer stabbed dead in Tapaz village

TAPAZ, Capiz — A 45-year-old farmer was stabbed to death around 6 p.m. on November 12 in Barangay San Nicolas, Tapaz, Capiz.

Police identified the victim as alias “Choy,” a resident of Sitio Agtogas in the same barangay.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds in different parts of his body, resulting in his immediate death.

The suspect was identified as alias “Moy,” 26, single, and also a farmer from Sitio Martao, Barangay San Nicolas.

According to the Tapaz Municipal Police Station, the victim was on his way to his aunt’s house when the suspect arrived and, without provocation, stabbed him repeatedly.

The suspect reportedly struck the victim in the chest, neck, face, and back before fleeing in an unknown direction.

Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection rushed the victim to Tapaz District Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police records indicate that the victim had been involved in the death of the suspect’s father several years ago, which may have motivated the attack.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and have launched a hot pursuit operation to locate the suspect.
