Police identified the victim as alias “Igroy,” 27, of the said village, while the suspect was identified as alias “Takla,” 61, also a resident of the same place.
An investigation by the Tapaz Municipal Police Station showed that the incident happened around 11:20 p.m. on the terrace of the victim’s house.
Police said the victim and his father had been drinking with a relative before the incident.
The relative left earlier, leaving the two behind, who later engaged in a heated conversation until the father allegedly took a bladed weapon and stabbed his son in the right side of the stomach.
The victim’s brother-in-law responded and brought him to Tapaz District Hospital in Barangay Switch, Tapaz, before he was later transferred to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Roxas City for further treatment.
The suspect was immediately arrested in a police hot-pursuit operation conducted by the Tapaz police at his house.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Tapaz Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.
