BACOLOD CITY — A 41-year-old farmer was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Sitio Calanugan, Barangay Minapasuk, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, early Tuesday.
According to initial police investigation, the victim and his live-in partner were asleep when three armed men broke into their home at around 2 a.m.
The suspects allegedly tried to force the victim to go with them to Sitio Yamingon, also in Barangay Minapasuk, but he refused.
Police said the suspects then kicked down the door and forcibly entered the house.
They shot the victim and fled the scene.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack.
