Farmer seriously wounded in Dumarao shooting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 25-year-old farmer was in serious condition after being shot while talking with a friend in Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao, on Sunday night, Aug. 2.
Police identified the victim only as alias Anton, a resident of the barangay.
An initial investigation by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station found that Anton was talking with his friend, alias Francis, along a barangay road when the suspect allegedly emerged from a house.
The suspect, identified only as alias Ron, 48, allegedly shot Anton with a firearm of unknown caliber.
Anton was struck in the upper left chest and taken to the Senator Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial Hospital in Dao for treatment.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction after the shooting.
Police launched a hot pursuit operation as they continued investigating the motive for the attack.
