A farmer in Ajuy, Iloilo, was arrested following a police anti-illegal drug operation on the evening of Feb. 27.
Alias Roman, 38, was apprehended at his home in Barangay San Antonio, Ajuy.
Members of the Ajuy Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, made the arrest after the suspect sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 3,600.
The suspect was further found in possession of two more sachets and six knot-tied plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
Capt. Aileen Lacrite, Ajuy police chief, said the seized drugs weigh approximately 362 grams with a standard drug price of PHP 2,461,600.
Roman is categorized as a newly identified high-value drug personality.
Lacrite said police learned of the suspect’s illegal drug activities after several arrested drug personalities last year pointed to him as their source.
Roman has no previous drug-related arrest.
He was also not on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council list of illegal drug personalities.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
