A farmer was found dead early morning of Oct. 9, 2019 in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
The body of Elmo Susmiran was sprawled in the middle of a rice field at Barangay Tuburan.
He was riddled with stab injuries on the head, right ear, abdomen, chest, neck, and shoulder.
The victim’s son discovered the victim the morning after he failed to return home.
His wife, Rosalie, claimed that her husband left home around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim said he was going to his friend’s house to invite the latter on his birthday on Thursday.
Joy-Joy, daughter of Susmiran’s friend, said the victim had a drinking session with her father and went home around 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, Police Major Raymond Celoso, Sta. Barbara police chief, said they could not rule a possible motive on Susmiran’s murder,
But Celoso said they already have a person of interest in the case.
