A farmer added to the list of persons arrested for gun ban violation in Western Visayas.
Romeo Macabanting, 59, a resident of Barangay Sto. Tomas, Tobias Fornier, Antique, was collared 11:30 a.m. of May 12, 2022 at the nearby Ingbangcal-B village.
Members of Tobias Fornier Municipal Police Station responded to the area after receiving a call from a certain Arianne Joseco.
The complainant claimed she was threatened after seeing Macabanting brandishing a handgun.
Corporal Anthony Pelingon, Tobias Fornier police investigator, said the suspect was arrested with a caliber .357 revolver loaded with five ammunition and a bolo.
Pelingon said the victim was drunk after attending a death anniversary commemoration.
Police have yet to talk to the victim who has yet to sober up after a few hours since he was put behind bars.
Macabanting would be charged for violation of Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10728 and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
