ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police launched a manhunt operation against a farmer who allegedly shot dead his uncle Monday night in Barangay Agcabugao, Cuartero, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Cornelio Estorque, 56, of Barangay Maindang while the suspect was Rafael Contreras of Barangay Agcabugao both in Cuartero town.
Investigation by Cuartero Municipal Police Station indicated that Estorque and Contreras were drinking liquor in a store when they argued over a welding machine.
The victim eventually went home around 10:50 pm, but the nephew followed and shot him thrice in the back portion of his head and other parts of his body.
Estorque was rushed to Sen. Gerry Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
Contreras hurriedly fled to an unknown direction.
