A farmer was arrested after he allegedly hacked his fellow farmer in Janiuay, Iloilo afternoon of Jan. 7.
Alias Narcing was collared in a hot pursuit operation around 8 p.m., four hours after the incident happened.
Police reports said that Narcing and the victim, 45-year-old alias Nel, were drinking liquor at the suspect’s house prior to the incident.
“They had a little dispute that erupted into a heated argument,” Captain Alwin Salmon, Janiuay police chief, said.
Given that both of them were under the influence of liquor, the argument turned physical. Narcing took his bolo and attacked the victim.
Nel was hit on the neck but it was just a minor injury, Salmon said.
He was taken to Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Janiuay town for treatment.
Salmon said the two camps have already reached an amicable settlement.
