ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 64-year-old farmer was hacked to death by his younger brother Monday evening at Sitio Riverside, Barangay Ongol-Ilaya in Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Freddie Barquillo of said place.
The Dumarao Municipal Police Station reported that Freddie went home drunk. And since he always gets unruly when intoxicated, his brother Rogelio closed the door to their house.
But Freddie persisted and destroyed the door.
Rogelio then drew a bolo and hacked the victim’s head and neck.
The victim died at the Dumarao Medical Center.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police and is presently detained at the police station.
Freddie’s family said they will no longer file charges against the suspect.
