ROXAS CITY, Capiz A 46-year-old farmer was hacked and shot to death by two brothers on Feb 1, 2019 at Sitio Nasunugan, Barangay Salgan in Maayon, Capiz.
The police identified the victim as Manuel Baltero of Barangay Salgan, while the suspects were identified as brothers Elmer Dellava, 47; and Joemer Dellava, 44.
Police investigation indicated that the victim was on his way home with his live-in partner when they met the suspects.
One of the suspects drew an unidentified gun caliber and shot Baltero. Not contented, the other suspect took a bolo and repeatedly hacked the fallen victim.
The suspects were arrested in a hot pursuit operations conducted by the police but they were released after a sister of the victim, Danila Baltero, executed an affidavit of non-interest to file cases.
An old grudge is the motive behind the incident.
