Farmer hacked in Dumarao drinking incident

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 29-year-old farmer was seriously injured after he was hacked in the face by a man who was allegedly under the influence of liquor Monday evening, April 27, in Sitio Agkawayan, Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as alias “Ronnile” of Sitio Stockfarm, while the suspect was identified as alias “Jenel,” 30, of Sitio Agkawayan, both in the same barangay.
An investigation by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station indicated that the victim was drinking at the house of his friend, alias “Reynaldo,” when the suspect arrived under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect suddenly hacked the victim with a bolo, hitting him on the left side of the face.
Punong Barangay Nicholas Hare immediately responded and brought the victim in his service vehicle to Senator Gerardo M. Roxas District Hospital in Dao town.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction after the incident.
Dumarao police are investigating the incident to determine the motive, while a manhunt operation is ongoing.
