ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A farmer was seriously injured after he was hacked early Monday morning, May 4, in Barangay Manhoy, Dao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as alias “Ren,” of legal age, and the suspect as alias “Berto,” 54, both residents of the area.
An investigation by the Dao Municipal Police Station showed that the victim was drinking with relatives and friends inside a relative’s house when the suspect arrived.
A heated commotion between the two followed minutes later.
At the height of the commotion, the suspect allegedly took a bolo from the house and hacked the victim in the body before fleeing.
Relatives immediately brought the victim to the Sen. Gerardo M. Roxas Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Barangay tanods later apprehended the suspect and turned him over to the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company for proper disposition.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Dao Municipal Police Station after he was turned over by the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company.
Police are preparing the appropriate charges against the suspect.
