Farmer gunned down in Toboso

BACOLOD City – Anger triggered an unidentified person to kill a farmer at Sitio Ka Blas, Barangay Tabun-ac, Toboso, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Police Major Jun Ray Batadlan, town police chief, said that Jerry Enisimo, 45, of the said village, was shot in the shoulder and head, following a heated argument with the suspect.
Batadlan said the victim chanced upon the suspect in the middle of the sugarcane field, while he was on his way to work on board a motorcycle.
Police recovered from the scene two fired cartridges and a dud bullet from a .45 caliber pistol.
Batadlan said they already have a person of interest but he refused to elaborate further on the possible motive while the investigation is ongoing.
Police have no eye witness in the incident, but they have gathered information from some people who passed by the area.
“From there, lantawon ta kung magpareho ang mga statements nila para ma establish ta gid ang identity ka suspect,” he added.
