Farmer found dead in Maayon rice field

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 42-year-old farmer was found dead Sunday morning, Dec. 21, in Barangay West Villaflores, Maayon, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Jobert Dogelio, also known as “Boyet,” a resident of the same barangay.
The body was discovered at around 6:50 a.m. by Sonny Ortiz, who found the victim lying in a rice field beside the road.
Authorities confirmed that Dogelio had a gunshot wound on his back.
Initial investigation revealed that Dogelio had attended a birthday party the night before, hosted by Ryan Baroquillo, also a resident of the area.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the motive for the killing and identify possible suspects.
