A farmer from Barotac Viejo, Iloilo was arrested during a police raid early morning of June 18.
The arrest of the 45-year-old suspect, identified only by the alias “San,” took place at his home in Sitio Tigbaw, Barangay Nueva Invencion, Barotac Viejo.
Police operatives from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit, along with personnel from the Barotac Viejo Municipal Police Station, conducted the raid under a search warrant issued by the presiding judge of Branch 71, 6th Regional Trial Court, Iloilo City.
Authorities recovered two homemade long-barrel shotguns with short steel magazines, six rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade.
The suspect is in the custody of the Barotac Viejo police.
He will be charged with violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act 9516, or the law on unlawful possession of explosives.
