BACOLOD City – A farm owner was shot to death by three unidentified persons on a motorcycle at Baragay Libas, Isabela in Negros Occidental Wednesday.
Authorities identified the victim as Jorie Boy Fabillar, 39, of Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, but resided in Isabela for years now.
Police Major Ruben Pajarito, town police chief, said Fabillar was driving his tricycle to a school to fetch his child when he was waylaid by the assailants.
The gunmen shot him at close range, Pajarito said.
Fabillar was with a friend when the shooting happened but he was the only target, Pajarito said.
The victim suffered three gunshot wounds on his head and body. He was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.
Recovered from the scene were a slug and a fired bullet of .45-caliber ammunition.
The police chief said they have to check the victim’s background and activities in the adjacent province to determine the motive since he had no previous criminal records in the town.
