ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The man who died after falling from a police car in Pontevedra, Capiz succumbed to massive head injuries, the autopsy indicated.
Police Major Christopher Candelario, Pontevedra police chief, said Erwin Patanao died after his head hit the concrete road.
This was the finding of the autopsy conducted by Police Lt. Colonel Joe Martin Fuentes, the medico-legal officer in Capiz PNP Crime Laboratory.
But Patanao’s family doubted the result and is now planning to ask the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for a deeper probe into his death.
Earlier, Patanao’s father Edwin appealed for an accurate and impartial investigation to find out the reason for his son’s death.
Edwin said he has doubts about Erwin’s death and he called for witnesses to come out.
The victim, who was supposed to give a statement on a vehicular incident, died after he allegedly fell from a police car while on their way to the police station.
The incident happened 9:30 pm of Nov 6, 2020 at Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra.
