As Filipino volleyball fans did their respective New Year’s countdowns and mandatory wine cheers with their peers, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans were also preparing for the loudest fireworks that welcomed 2026.
In the middle of the New Year celebration, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) franchise posted an update as festive as the occasion, officially announcing Eya Laure’s arrival with the Flying Titans.
“A NEW ERA BEGINS,” Choco Mucho posted on its official Facebook page.
“Mothered. Sleya! Eya Laure joins the Choco Mucho Flying Titans!”
With the signing, Laure ended more than a year of inactivity in the PVL after dealing with a noncompete clause in her contract with her former squad, the recently disbanded Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers.
Laure’s last appearance as an official PVL player was during the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, and she has not laced up her sneakers in the league since, aside from her commitment to the Alas Pilipinas women’s national volleyball team.
The former University of Santo Tomas (UST) stalwart’s arrival comes at an ideal time, with Choco Mucho coming off back-to-back PVL conferences without a title.
Laure is aiming to avoid any rust once the first PVL conference of 2026 begins, after taking part in several Alas Pilipinas campaigns on the international stage.
During the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup, Laure became an impact player for head coach Jorge Souza de Brito, and she also played a key role in the 2025 SEA V. League, where Alas won two consecutive bronze medals.
Laure reinforces an already talented Choco Mucho offensive rotation and will team up with Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Des Cheng, and Maddie Madayag.
Aside from Laure, the Flying Titans also brought back former outside hitter Caitlin Viray, setter Alina Bicar, and middle blocker Jaila Atienza as part of their retooled roster.
“The Choco Mucho Flying Titans welcome 4 new players to the team! They bring the grit, speed, and fire that will make every match unforgettable,” the franchise added.
