A former seafarer was repeatedly shot at Barangay Cabugao, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo early evening of Aug 20, 2020.
Jun Tipan, 44, was standing beside his motorcycle and preparing to go home to Barangay Pagsanga-an, Pavia, when the gunman approached him.
Staff Sergeant Randolph Bayting, Sta. Barbara police investigator, said the suspect, Alejandro Hachero, 54, also a resident of Cabugao Norte village, then pumped several bullets on the victim.
Tipan managed to crawl to the house of his friend, Claro Jaen.
The suspect ran after him and again shot him.
The victim succumbed to gunshot injuries on the right side of his body, his back, his forearm, and his chest.
Bayting said Hachero, who was allegedly drunk, immediately left the crime scene and remains at large as of this writing.
Bayting said they’re still investigating the motive for the shooting.
