BACOLOD City – A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was arrested after police seized from his person 70 grams of suspected shabu worth P476,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 14, Victorias City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Arrested was Rolin De Arroz, 52, of Barangay 9.
Police Major Joy Ellaga, deputy chief of Victorias City Police Station, said that De Arroz was placed under monitoring after police received reports about his alleged engagement in illegal drugs.
Ellaga said the suspect is considered a high-value individual, considering the volume of the drug recovery.
Also confiscated from him were the P1,000 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and a sedan.
Ellaga said the suspect has a previous case of qualified theft in other areas of the country. But, she is not privy to the details.
Drug charges are being readied against the suspect.
