Ex-lady inmate caught for illegal drug in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, Capiz–A former lady inmate was arrested Wednesday afternoon, August 19, in a drug buybust operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Roxas City PNP in Barangay IX, Roxas City.
The police identified the suspect as alias “Hermie”, 42, and resident of Brgy. San Jose, Roxas City and classified as a High Value Individual (HVI).
Recovered from the suspect were 4 sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱6,800 and ₱1,000 buybust money.
The police said that the suspect was arrested in 2023 for the same offense but she was released in 2024 after availing of the plea bargaining agreement.
The suspect denied she was into illegal drug trade and claimed it was allegedly planted by the authorities.
The suspect is presently under the custody of Roxas City PNP while charges for violating RA 9165 or (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against her.
