Ex-kagawad nabbed in drug sting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A former village councilor or kagawad was arrested by authorities in a drug buy-bust operation Wednesday afternoon in Brgy. Timpas Panitan, Capiz.
Ceasar Dice did not resist when elements of the Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collared him.
Recovered from Dice were 10 sachets of suspected illegal drugs, the P500 marked money, a cellular phone, P1,400 cash and a motorcycle.
According to Police Lt. Reynaldo Lata, Panitan police chief, the suspect was arrested in 2016 also for drug charges but allegedly returned to illegal drug peddling after he was released through plea bargaining agreement.
Lata said it took several days of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.
The suspect was detained at the police station of Panitan. Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspect.
