Ex-Dumarao gov’t worker arrested in Capiz drug sting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A former employee of the municipality of Dumarao was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon, Feb. 19, in Brgy. Consolation, Dumalag, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias Richard, 53, a resident of Brgy. Alipaciawan, Dumarao, Capiz, describing him as a Street Level Individual (SLI) and former worker of the municipal government.
Police recovered from the suspect a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.5 grams with a standard drug price of PHP 3,400; PHP 500 in buy-bust money; a cellphone; and another sachet found inside a black sling bag.
The operation was conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Dumalag Special Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) led by PMaj. Amie Bulaquina, Dumalag PNP chief.
The suspect is under the custody of Dumalag PNP station for proper disposition, while charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been filed against him.
