BACOLOD CITY — Police are investigating the killing of a 43-year-old man inside a computer shop in Barangay Sum-ag on Monday, with investigators looking into illegal drugs as a possible motive.
Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Butsoy.
Ofalia said the victim was sitting inside the computer shop when an unidentified person entered and shot him.
The gunman then fled on a motorcycle driven by an unidentified companion.
Ofalia said the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died in a hospital about an hour later.
Police recovered seven spent .45-caliber cartridge cases and four fired bullets from the scene.
Ofalia said the victim had previously been jailed for a drug offense and carnapping charges.
Police also monitored him for his alleged continued involvement in illegal drugs, Ofalia said.
The investigation is ongoing.
