ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A man who was once jailed for drug charges was arrested anew Monday afternoon for illegal drug possession.
The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) collared Cyril Tomasa, 56, resident of Brgy. Adlawan here, in a drug buy-bust operation in Brgy. VII of this city.
Recovered from Tomasa were 20 sachets of suspected shabu, a cellular phone, and the P1,000 marked money.
Before his arrest on Monday, Tomasa was also charged for the same offense but was released in 2017 through a plea bargaining agreement.
According to Police Lt. Mark Anthony Garcia, it took more than a week of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.
Tomasa is now detained at the lock-up cell of the Roxas City police station. Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) will be filed against the suspect.
