A former police officer was arrested morning of July 26, 2021 at his home in Dingle, Iloilo.
Eduardo Dolendo, 46, a resident of Brgy. Licu-an, Dingle, was nabbed for malversation of public funds complaints.
Members of Dingle Police Station collared their former colleague by virtue of an arrest warrant for Criminal Case No. 20-85400.
Judge Ma. Yolanda Panaguiton-Gavino of the Regional Trial Court Branch 34, Iloilo City issued the warrant on July 20, 2020.
A P48,000 bail was set for Dolendo’s temporary liberty.
Major Jonah Galicha, Dingle police chief, said Dolendo was dismissed from the police service over an AWOL (absence without official leave) case.
“The malversation case was for his failure to turn over his issued service firearm,” he said.
Dolendo is now detained at Dingle Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
