ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 57-year-old ex-convict was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Thursday evening at Purok 1, Barangay Libas here.
Recovered from Joey Anonoy of the said place were four sachets of suspected shabu with estimated value of P39,000; the P500 marked money, and a cellphone.
The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Roxas City PNP and Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation.
According to Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City PNP spokesperson, Anonoy was arrested few years ago for the same offense but he was released in 2005 through plea bargaining agreement.
Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect who is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
