Ex-Capiz guv files candidacy for vice guv

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Former Capiz Governor Victor Tanco Sr. and 20 others filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the May 9, 2022 national and local elections.
Tanco is running for vice governor under Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Cusi faction.
Tanco’s slate for the provincial include re-electionist Board Member Steve Contreras, former board members Blesilda Ging-Ging Perez Almalbis and Eduardo Magallanes, former Panay vice mayor Gualberto Bernas III and Panitan Vice Mayor Byron Delfin (first district).
The second district bets are former board members Aldwin Cruz-am and Jeffrey Layo, Sapian Sangguniang Bayan member Ferdinand ‘’Bugs’’ Baguio, Tapaz SB member Neriza San Felix and former Capiz Police Provincial Director Julio Gustilo Jr.
Also present in the filing of COCs at the Robinsons Place-Roxas were Governor Esteban Evan Contreras II, Mambusao Mayor Leodegario Labao Jr. and former governor Jose Borda.
Contreras first filed for re-election on Saturday while Borda and Labao will run for congressman in the first and second districts, respectively.
The three submitted their certificates of nomination and acceptance (CONA) duly signed by the PDP-Laban secretary-general.
Meanwhile, the party’s bets for Roxas City are expected to file their COCs today, October 6.
