BACOLOD CITY — Fire Chief Supt. Rodolfo Denaga has been appointed regional director of the Bureau of Fire Protection in the Negros Island Region, effective June 16.
A turnover of command ceremony for key officers was held Thursday at the BFP national headquarters in Quezon City.
Denaga previously served as Bacolod City fire marshal in 2015 and was also designated acting provincial fire marshal of Negros Occidental.
He later became provincial fire marshal of Capiz under BFP-Western Visayas.
The Bacolod City Fire Station extended its congratulations and warm welcome to Denaga.
The station, led by Fire Supt. Jenny Mae Masip, said it looks forward to his strong and inspiring leadership as they continue to uphold fire safety and public service with excellence.
BFP offices in Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental also welcomed Denaga, expressing full support for a stronger and more resilient NIR.
In a Facebook post, they said Denaga’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as BFP-NIR begins to chart its course as a unified and empowered regional command.
“With your seasoned leadership, clear vision, and steadfast commitment to service, we are confident that this new region will thrive in delivering enhanced fire protection, emergency response, and community safety,” they added.
Fire Chief Supt. Fred Trajeras Jr., who also once served Bacolod and Negros Occidental, has been assigned as regional director of BFP-Central Visayas.
