The Estancia Police Station in Iloilo arrested two wanted persons in separate operations on Feb 21, 2023.
The suspects were identified as Renante Cañeso, 52, of Barangag Botongon, Estancia and Bobby Wen Dumala, 20, of Sitio Kawayanan, Barangay Bulaquena, Estancia.
Cañeso was collared 10:15 am. at Barangay Lo-ong, Concepcion, Iloilo.
The local police, along with other police operatives from the regional and provincial offices, arrested the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide under Criminal Case No. 4490 (E).
Judge Danilo R Balagtas of the 2nd Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Estancia-Batad, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Jan. 19, 2023.
Bail for his temporary liberty was fixed at P60,000.
Captain Arniel Buraga said the suspect sought refuge in Concepcion town after he was involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, Dumala was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Bulaqueña village.
The suspect is facing a frustrated homicide case in CC No. 2021-10099.
Judge Oscar Leo Sancho Billena of the Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Oct. 8, 2021.
Bail was set at P72,000.
After the case was filed in court, the suspect allegedly fled to Iloilo City and worked as a laborer.
Buraga said both suspects were arrested through active information sharing and coordination within the intelligence community.
