BACOLOD City – Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran expressed surprise on the relief of Police Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido.
Espenido, deputy operations officer of the Bacolod City Police Office, was relieved from his effective Feb 5, 2020.
“Honestly, I was surprised in fact we even had a meeting last Feb. 6,” Familiaran told Daily Guardian here Sunday.
“In fact we have received his requests for assistance from the city government as far as the campaign against the illegal drugs is concerned.”
However, Familiaran said “the campaign against illegal drugs in the city will continue with or with Espenido.”
The PNP central headquarters ordered Espenido’s relief. He will be assigned to the office of the PNP chief in Camp Crame.
