BACOLOD City – The decomposing body of an elderly woman was found in a sugarcane plantation at Sitio Tabionan, Barangay Tabu, Ilog, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Police identified the fatality as 60-year-old Melba Paglumotan.
Police Major John Ganzon, town police chief, said Paglumotan was reported missing by her family since January 1 after she went to her partner’s house.
She allegedly confronted him about his affair with another woman. It probably triggered a commotion.
Two days later, she was found buried in a sugarcane plantation.
Ganzon said the victim sustained a wound on her back, and two small stab wounds on her right arm. She also had a broken neck.
“There’s a possibility that the victim was choked and was hit by a hard object,” he added.
Ganzon said the victim’s partner and his woman are being suspected to be involved in the killing. Both of them are at large.
