BACOLOD City – An elderly woman was hacked to death by a distant relative at Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Killed was Nenita Aguisando, 61, of the said village.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Robert Mansueto, city police chief, said that the suspect identified as Joel Corros allegedly waylaid the victim and whacked her with a cane cutter (espading).
Corros was drunk during the incident which stemmed from a previous argument with the victim, Mansueto said.
Aguisando was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.
Corros surrendered to the police later that day and will be facing charges.
