Elderly man shot dead

BACOLOD City – An elderly man was gunned down at Barangay Pinapugasan, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on June 7, 2019.
Killed was Felipe Dacaldacal, 61, of the said village.
Investigation showed that the victim was having dinner at home when a certain “Astro”, 40, of Toboso town, arrived and approached him.
The victim invited “Astro” to join him for dinner but the suspect heeded his request.
The suspect confronted the victim after the latter identified the former as an alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA).
Dacaldacal denied Astro’s accusation.
The suspect then repeatedly shot him and fled.
Dacaldacal suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, where he died.
Police have yet to establish the motive.
