BACOLOD City – An elderly man died after he was hit by an alleged speeding motorcycle in front of a public cemetery in Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Gil John Despi, city police chief, identified the victim as Jose Medida, 85, Barangay Luna.
Despi said the victim was crossing the road when the 28-year-old motorcycle rider probably failed to notice him.
The victim was taken to a hospital but later passed away, according to Despi.
Despi said the victim’s family has yet to decide on the filing of case against the motorcycle rider, who was already released from police custody after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary detention.
