An 82-year-old farmer, known as Tito, was found dead on the afternoon of March 14 in Barangay Maninila, Miag-ao, Iloilo.
He is suspected to have suffered fatal electrocution while attending to an electric waterline hose on a property owned by Dr. Fermindoza.
Two individuals discovered the elderly farmer near the electrified equipment.
Despite prompt attention from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), who transported him to the Miag-ao Rural Health Unit, Tito was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Miag-ao’s police chief, Captain Francis Donne Lomahan, said preliminary investigations suggested the victim was handling repairs on his electric waterline hose when he came into contact with an exposed wire, leading to his electrocution.
