BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested while PHP230,800 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in two villages here and in four cities in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested two persons in Barangays 1 and Handumanan, which resulted in the recovery of PHP57,400 worth of suspected shabu last Wednesday.
For the province, policemen arrested six persons and seized PHP173,400 worth of the said contraband from January 20 to 21.
The buy-bust operations were conducted in the cities of Talisay, Sagay, San Carlos, and Kabankalan.
The biggest drug recovery in the province in that period was reported in San Carlos City, where Ronilio Cantones, 42, of Barangay 5 was apprehended.
Police recovered from him nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 12 grams worth PHP81,600, drug paraphernalia, PHP600, weighing scale, and the PHP500 marked money.
