ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Eight persons were caught for alleged illegal fishing activities in the waters of Panay, Capiz on Thursday, April 21.
Police identified them as Rene Villanueva Dequet, 21; Joebert Bargo Alboro, 18; Albert Dequet Pamoso, 44; Albert Herbasio Famoso, 68; Teodolfo Baltero Viente, 44; and Edsel Viente Bedeo, 20, all residents of Barangay Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz; Joseph Gonzales Ordas, 52, and Dario Azarcon Dela Cruz, 47, both of Barangay Butacal, Panay, Capiz.
Recovered from them were 5 fishing boats, several fishing paraphernalia and different kinds of fish.
The fishing paraphernalia were turned-over to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO)-Panay.
The five separate operations were jointly conducted by the Municipal Bantay Dagat Team and Panay Municipal Police Station.
